At the House of Mystery

Image
"Good day, Mr Allen" Clifford Devoe barely contained his smirk at the young man's frustration. Allen's suspicions were of course not misplaced, but it was impossible for him to prove that Devoe was indeed up to anything illegal. Besides- he had no idea of the grand scale of his actual plan... All that was cut short when a portal opened up behind him. He felt the change in the air behind him and turned his wheelchair around just in time to see the barrel of the gun in his face... The Author had just put the gun away when another portal opened up. This one, however, was not of his making at all...  Jared walked out. "Yo! Strange said that I was going to find you here..." The Author raised his eyebrows- "You can now enter stories as well...?" "Only the ones that you know about..." Jared replied. "Strange says it's like travelling to other universes since you have created a universe everytime you interfere with a story." ...

The New Empress of Outworld

Mileena dried her tears and then asked in a serious, but much less threatening tone than one would normally expect of her: "Who are you and what are you doing in my room?" Deadpool gave an embarrassed chuckle and answered: "Ummm... well... I'd love to tell you, but will you tell me why you were crying?" "No, I won't..." she answered softly. "But your answer to my question will determine whether you walk out of here alive or not." Deadpool picked up the teddy and looked at it. He actually knows what had happened. She had made the teddy bear for Scorpion, who happens to hate teddies and Scorpion abruptly rejected the gift. The people of Earth Realm knew Mileena only as a monster, but she actually had the heart of a child. She did not really understand her feelings for Scorpion, or why his rejection had made her so sad, but now she had a new set of feelings showing for someone who spoke to her in a friendly tone. Deadpool looked at her and...

Dropping off the kids

The Author stepped out of the portal into the monitor room and greeted Deadpool and Fate. These two have followed the Author's handling of the MacGyver episode and congratulated him. The Author thanked them and then went to the fridge to get a bottle of Hunters Gold that had been waiting for him. He popped off the cap and took a long sip before he went to sit down in one of the chairs. "So- Jared..." he said. Jared listened attentively. "I know I said I was going to drop you off at Constantine's for training. I have changed my mind, however..." "Why?" Jared asked. He was not really that eager to train with anyone. He never wanted to have anything to do with magic, but- since he got benched indefinitely by his writers and the Author is the only one that still wishes to give him a story to be part of- he felt that playing his part in this story was the least he could do. "Well... you are still going to Constantine- and Zatanna for that matter-...

No one has to die

Image
Deadpool woke up later than everyone else in the lair. If it was a competition he would be tied with Jarred for the title of Team Member who sleeps the latest. He went to the kitchen, warmed up a burrito and then, meal in hand, walked into the monitor room where Jarred was quietly sitting back with his feet on the dashboard and smoking a cigarette. This is more or less what he did if he was not on a mission or practicing his knife throwing. "'sup, Jarred." Deadpool greeted. He took a couple of bites and looked at one of the monitors. Much of what was shown on these screens are movies or television series in the Author's reality. The Author, Deadpool realised by the way, was nowhere to be seen. Still- he rather chose to ask about Cassandra. "Out in the gym training with Sephiroth... Those two seem to like kicking each other's asses..." "She could have asked me..." Deadpool remarked in a seemingly hurt tone. "I have skills...

No Need for a Second Final Battle

Image
Peter was feeling proud and relieved. His girlfriend has not only managed to survive the whole battle with Electro unscathed, but she also actually helped him defeat the superpowered villain. Gwen had just walked out of the control station when she saw Peter, Spiderman, pointing at his wrist- happily saying that she could still make her flight. And then... an unwanted inbound flight arrived. Harry Osborne was too intent on getting revenge against Spiderman to notice the girl behind him. In a moment, though, he was going to look behind him, put 2 and 2 together and then cause one of the most tragic and unnecessary deaths in all of comic book based movies... Harry, the Green Goblin, however, never got to getting named the Green Goblin. In fact- he never even got to finish his rant about how Spiderman was going to pay... He never even got to look behind him. The last expression on his face was that stupid overdone leer that was supposed to pass for evil when th...

How to cure Adamantium Poisoning...

Deadpool came back from his mission and was about to report that he has been successful when the Author passed him. The Author stopped him short with a quick "good job. That'll do." and walked on to the spot where Deadpool had just entered the room. Deadpool gave him a puzzled look, shrugged and then headed to the fridge. The Author proceeded to open up a portal on the exact same spot where another one had opened just a short while ago and stepped in... Logan had just woken up in his bed with no idea how he got there. The last thing he remembered was being in 1973 fighting Sentinels and somehow landing in a river... He was about to head out when a man dressed in jeans and a Babymetal T-shirt walked into the room from a hole in thin air. Before Logan could say anything the man grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him into the open portal. Somewhere in a time long before the DC Universe's history a meteorite had just crashed onto Earth with a fiery go...

Deadpool saves Wolverine! (And does not even get named in the credits)

Image
Soooooooo.... The Author gave me the mission to stop the biggest injustice that was done to Wolverine in the history of his existence in Marvel fiction. Yes. You've guessed it- I was going to stop the Adamantium from getting sucked out of his body by the Silver Samurai and save his precious blade claws. Ummm... Is that a spoiler? I'm not sure, because I have not yet told you whether the mission was a success or not... Anyway- I got inserted at a point in the story where Logan was still sightseeing in Japan with a Yukio that is not canon in either the X-men Apocalypse movie or that cinematic masterpiece of a sequel to my movie... Anyway- I dropped out from the portal some distance away from that Japanese castle in the mountains that was full of Ninjas. I knew that getting in was not going to be easy, so I decided to enter unseen by scaling the back wall with a grappling hook and rope. Standing on the castle wall I could see the Ninja bodyguards patrolling the ar...

Saving Solid Snake

Image
The Author had been waiting alone in the lair for most of the day before one of the com links that he was monitoring started beeping. He has now deployed his talented assistants in various stories throughout fiction. They were now equipped with small communicators. In Deadpool and Jared's cases the communicators were worn on the wrists like watches. In Sephiroth's case it was a button under his coat, against his chest.  For Cassandra it was a small device in her utility belt. She had opted for the sleek Ninja outfit for this mission. Earlier that day the Author had asked her to infiltrate a top secret military lab and to find something called "Foxdie". The Author had no idea how the container would look, but knew that it was to find its way to a special operative that was soon going to be on a mission on Shadow Moses Island. Apparently Foxdie was a virus that was going to get injected into the soldier known as Solid Snake along with the nanomachines ...

Learning to Delegate

Image
Taking out the Scarecrow in Arkham Knight has made the Author realise something- His team was too big for some jobs. Also- as his list of wrongs to right throughout fiction came to mind- he might get a lot more done if he would spread his workforce a bit wider... So- after careful consideration he ended up sitting in a room full of computer screens in the middle of literally nowhere, monitoring the progress of his carefully placed agents. Kayako stood quietly behind him, looking over his shoulder at one of the screens that was enjoying all of the Auithor's attention at the moment... The Joker was happily humming a tune in the music-less elevator that he and his two thugs were taking up to where Barbara Gordon's apartment was. His humming came to a stop when the elevator did. The door, however, was not opening... The Joker had nothing to say to his two henchmen when the elevator's lights went out... After a part of the elevator's roof got quietly removed to let ...

None Of That

Image
The portal opened up in a warehouse in a Gotham city that Cassandra did not know. As it was with the Author's ability, the he did not need to know the location of where he was going, just which moment in the story. "Is this Gotham in a parallel universe to ours?" Cassandra asked while the others stepped out of the portal behind her and the Author. "This one exists in a video game." the Author replied. "While I was able to finish the game the ending to this game's story really sucks..." "What happens?" Deadpool asked. "Does Batman get killed?" "Something like that..." the Author answered. "So... what do we do?" Sephiroth asked. "Find Batman's killer and stop him before he does it?" "We have arrived way ahead of all that." the Author replied. "We need to find the Scarecrow and eliminate him. Then we leave..." Jared seemed restless. "So- we probably have to f...

Meet a Real Boss Character!

Image
The team has slept well after a night of sightseeing around the city of Altissia. Today was going to be the day on which Noctis was going to establish a covenant with Leviathan. They will know that their time to move out has arrived as soon as the wind starts picking up. The team woke up, however, to find the Author and Deadpool missing... In quite another story an earlier version of Sephiroth was plunging down towards Aerith as she knelt in prayer... Cloud was still approaching her and had just begun to register the horror that was about to unfold before his eyes a mere millisecond from now... Sephiroth's sword almost shattered when the tip struck solid rock where Aerith was supposed to be. He did see the hooded figure appear out of nowhere and its cloak folding around the girl before they both disappeared, but was not able to do anything about it while he was falling. The Author and Aerith appeared somewhere outside Midgar where Deadpool and Zack were sitting in...
