The New Empress of Outworld

 

Mileena dried her tears and then asked in a serious, but much less threatening tone than one would normally expect of her:

"Who are you and what are you doing in my room?"

Deadpool gave an embarrassed chuckle and answered:

"Ummm... well... I'd love to tell you, but will you tell me why you were crying?"

"No, I won't..." she answered softly. "But your answer to my question will determine whether you walk out of here alive or not."

Deadpool picked up the teddy and looked at it. He actually knows what had happened. She had made the teddy bear for Scorpion, who happens to hate teddies and Scorpion abruptly rejected the gift.

The people of Earth Realm knew Mileena only as a monster, but she actually had the heart of a child. She did not really understand her feelings for Scorpion, or why his rejection had made her so sad, but now she had a new set of feelings showing for someone who spoke to her in a friendly tone.

Deadpool looked at her and answered- "Well- I am here to help you become ruler of this place...among other things..."

"You should know better than to think that I would choose to usurp my father!" Mileena yelled in clear disgust. 

"Well-" Deadpool answered. "That position is going to be open very soon when this tournament thing is over..."

Deadpool got up from the bed. "Well- I have told you about my reason for being here. I will help you take Shao Khan's place and then make sure nobody takes it from you, but only if you promise me something..."

Mileena snorted. "Why would I promise you anything?"

"Because you can and you will be glad you did." Deadpool replied.

"What do you want me to promise?"

"First- you will make peace with your sister and let her be ruler of Edenia. I don't think you'll mind giving it up. It's too much trouble to govern that place along with Outworld anyway. Let your sister do that job..."

"...I cannot trust Edenia..." Mileena replied, remembering now that she could probably also not trust this strange person.

"Sure-" Deadpool said. "You cannot trust them now because you don't have a truce with them yet. But- if you know the ruler of Edenia well enough the two of you can easily work something out."

Mileena mulled it over. "Fine..."

"Another thing..." Deadpool continued. "Leave Earthrealm alone... Trust me- you do not want to go there..."

"But my father said Outworld must merge with Earthrealm..." Mileena protested.

Deadpool waved his hand in a dismissive gesture. "Your father only says that because he does not know that doing that will piss Raiden off and put everyone at risk... Trust me- you won't enjoy your rule of Outworld so much if you have to deal with Raiden attacking the place all the time..."

Mileena laughed. "Let him come! I will make him regret it." 

"I'm afraid you have more imminent threats to deal with..." Deadpool answered calmly.

"Like what?" Mileena asked.

"Well... does the name "Onaga" ring a bell?" Deadpool replied.

"Who is that?" Mileena asked.

After explaining that Onaga is a very pissed-off former ruler of Outworld who was planning a huge comeback in the near future Deadpool finally got up from the bed. He picked up the teddy. 

"This little guy looks really cute. Can I keep him?" he asked nicely.

Mileena blushed and smiled. "You really like him?"

"Sure."

"Then he is yours." Mileena answered.

Deadpool said "thank you" and headed out.

Mileena never knew afterward that the bullet that ended up in Shao Khan's head while Liu Kang and Kung Lao were fighting Kintaro actually came from Deadpool's gun.

She never knew about a guy called Kotal who wanted to seize her throne, because he died of lead poisoning before Mileena had crowned herself as Empress.

When Mileena became Empress, her boyfriend Deadpool gave her Shinnok's amulet- after killing Quan Chi when he tried to take it off Shao Khan's dead body.

Blaze was never seen. With all the fighting having stopped after Onaga was defeated by the joint forces of Edenia and Outworld he never had a reason to show himself.

Deadpool soon found, though, that a peaceful Outworld was a boring place with no battles to fight.

He had to wait there for a while, though, before the Author was going to fetch him...

In another universe Dr Strange was standing by a plinth with a crystal ball. He held his palms at either side of the ball and concentrated. The ball began to glow with a bright white light that faded to show an image of the Author in his chair.

"Yes?" the Author asked.

Dr Strange answered: "His training is complete..."
