One More Stop: We have to pick up Cassandra

Cassandra was busy training. It was long after her last documented adventure in the Pre-Crisis timeline and writers did not have much for her to do.

Blüdhaven did, however, offer a new idiot that had not yet heard of her though. Most of the time, however, the city was peaceful and the worst crime committed that week was some kid illegally downloading Avengers :Infinity War. In that case the perpetrator was also the victim...

When the portal opened in her cave she stopped hitting the heavy bag and smiled. She likes the Author. He was not scared of her like most people was and he also did not seem to notice her awkwardness at speaking.

She also knew from his body language that he did not mind her training while she had guests and he also did not mind the state of the gym.

"Long time no see. " she smiled. She took a half step forward and spread her arms open in anticipation of the hug that was coming. Yes- the Author is a hugger...
The Author smiled to himself as he felt her tough little body soften and warm in his arms.

"It has indeed been..." he replied. "How have you been keeping?"

"Boring actually..." she laughed. "Even Batman now has spare time on his hands nowadays... I guess we may have won the war on crime..."

"Maybe it is because criminals are scared of the scary girl in the black suit that beats them up so badly..." the Author laughed.

Sephiroth remained quiet. He has not yet been out of the Lifestream long enough to feel in the mood for conversation. Deadpool waved at her and when he saw that he caught her attention he walked up to greet her.

"Ms Cain! I am putting together a team of special people to save the world from an alien with a ballsack for a chin that is going to snap half the Universe's population from existence if - oof!"

The Author's elbow in his midriff stopped him dead before he could explain why it was necessary for Thanos to first fight them instead of just snapping right away....

"This is Deadpool..." the Author offered, realising that he should perhaps have started with introductions a bit earlier. Kayako manifested and shyly offered her hand. Cassandra smiled and gently shook the spirit's hand. Somehow she felt like she could relate to the spirit girl.

Sephiroth did not seem in the mood for introducing himself, but he nodded with a knowing smile when he got introduced and Cassandra took all that she needed to know from his body language.

"So-" Cassandra asked just after getting everybody's names. "Are we going on an adventure together?"

"A couple..." the Author replied.

"And- you can still return me to this very second in time when we are done?"

"You know it." the Author replied with a smile. "-but I think it will be better to return you a second or two later so that you don't get confused or forget where you have been. You do want to still remember what you have done after we have finished, right?"

Cassandra smiled.

"Okay!" she said- cheerfully clapping her hands together. "Just wait for me to get dressed and pack a couple of things..."
