Next Recruit: Sephiroth

The Farplane was undisturbed for millenia since the High Summoner Yuna had visited it with her friends.
By the time the portal had opened up to let the Author and his two companions set foot on it the towns and cities of the world beyond its gate have changed. The inhabitants of that world had stopped calling it Spira and-

a terrible war was fought against a being whose spirit now roamed this place in the stream of life energy that the inhabitants of the new world uses to power their homes.

"So..." Deadpool spoke the first words stepping through the portal. "You know how to find this Sepiroth guy's soul among these sparkly things that look just like it, right?"
"Not me." the Author replied. "She will"
At that moment the Author exhaled long and grey smoke blew from his mouth. The cloud of smoke rearranged itself into a column that solidified and took the form of Kayako.
The Author nodded. Kayako reads his thoughts, so there was no need for verbal instructions. She dissolved into smoke and then became as bright and glittery as the pyreflies around her. She disappeared among the swarm...
Later- just when Deadpool was about to finish the 35th level of the 3rd episode of Angry Birds Space on his phone- Kayako's pyrefly form came our of the stream followed by another pyrefly.
The two tiny stars landed in front of the Author and took human form.
Kayako bowed.
Sephiroth, however, eyed the man before him. "What atonement can you offer?" he asked.
Kayako had already explained to him that the Author was offering him a new life of peace and a chance to atone for the destruction he had caused.
"I knew that time spent on a higher plane of existence would change you. " the Author smiled.
"The place where we are going is a world called 'Insomnia'. It has a vengeful immortal who wants to kill off all humanity there just because he did not become king long ago..."
"Is he going to summon a meteor?" Sephiroth asked.
"No." the Author replied. "He is going to blacken the skies and unleash hordes of monsters."
"Amateur..." Sephiroth sighed.
"Your atonement..." the Author continued "will come from saving a life- and somebody's eyesight along the way..."
